Stainless steel press-fit available in XL sizes up to 6” (168.3mm)

Stainless steel press-fit available in XL sizes up to Dn150

Isotubi’s M-profile stainless steel press-fit system can be pressed in XL sizes 5” (139.7mm) and 6” (168.3mm) for both water & gas, eliminating the need to weld down to 4” (108mm).

The availability of these XL tube and fittings is proving to be advantageous for gas and water installation projects, enabling a quick and simple jointing process which can be utilised with larger diameters down to its smallest size, 1/2” (15mm).

Isotubi

Isotubi have manufactured stainless-steel tube and fittings for over 40 years, producing millions of fittings annually. This experience and expertise ensures Isotubi can be trusted to offer the highest quality to fulfil the needs of its consumers. Isotubi provide a range of products that are manufactured in ISO 9001 conditions, BSi and WRAS approved (including XL sizes), meeting both EN10217-7 and EN10312 standards.

The Benefits

Time & money saving

A study commissioned by Viega and BSRIA designed to compare traditional pipework jointing methods against press systems was carried out under controlled conditions in the BSRIA laboratory. The study compared 4 different jointing methods: threading, grooving, welding and press-fit connections for thick-walled steel tubes, ranging in sizes from 1/2″ to 4″ diameters.

Although the study focuses on Megapress, it did highlight that the press fit method took considerably less time to assemble, a 78% reduction when compared to welding for example. The study suggests that due to its lighter weight and decreased handling and support needs, installation times and costs can be significantly reduced when compared to traditional methods and material options.

The time and motion study

Pre-fabrication potential

The XL fittings have pre-fab potential dure to its lightweight characteristics (compared to traditional steel), meaning that you will be able to pre-assemble parts of the system before installing in what can often be tight and confined spaces.

A safer method of installation

With no source of heat or exposure to fumes or chemicals, the installation process doesn’t require a hot works permit or any heat resistant clothing, ensuring a safer installation method with a substantially reduced risk of accidental damage.

Cleaner, hygienic and environmentally friendly

The installation process does not require the use of lubricating oils, meaning the pipe and surrounding areas do not require cleaning during or after installation. This reduces the level of flushing the system will require to remove contaminates.

Also, the product is manufactured to resist to oxidation and mechanical deformation when operating at high temperatures, ultimately ensuring the product remains hygienic and environmentally friendly.

Applications

Isotubi’s Numpress system is suitable for potable water, gas, heating, plumbing, solar, compressed air, steam, fire protection (sprinkler) and mining applications.

With the advancements and breakthroughs in press-fit technology, it is fast becoming the preferred technique of connecting piping systems in high-end residential projects, hotels and healthcare facilities to world-renowned heritage structures.

SBS Newcastle recently supplied Isotubi to C G Engineering Services, who was appointed to install pipe work to a local manufacturing plant who had committed to increase their production capabilities. Contracts Manager, Chris Giles said “By utilising this system, the installation would be achieved in the fastest possible time, allowing soonest start-up of the customer’s new production. Added to that, the Isotubi stainless system would provide a clean installation with improved flow rates over traditional welded steel pipe work, a long-life span with a 25 year warranty, and would assist with the health & safety challenges on site by facilitating a no hot works installation.”
