Established in 1982, Airkool is a trusted family-owned business based in Hull, specialising in air conditioning, refrigeration, electrical, heating, and ventilation services. Known for delivering complete end-to-end solutions, the company provides installation, servicing, and ongoing maintenance, supported by a 24/7, 365-day call-out service.
The Project
Airkool was commissioned to install a comprehensive air conditioning system at a newly constructed, three-floor care home in York. The objective was to create a comfortable and climate-controlled environment across the facility, particularly in communal areas such as lounges, dining rooms, and activity spaces.
In addition, temperature control in the medication rooms was critical, requiring a consistently cool and stable environment to ensure safe pharmaceutical storage.
To meet these needs, Airkool installed a Midea V6R Heat Recovery VRF system with ultra slim cassettes, chosen not only for its efficiency, reliability and flexibility, but also due to the cassettes having a very shallow depth, which the consultant preferred.
The equipment and ancillary components were supplied by Smith Brothers’ Hull branch, who demonstrated excellent customer support throughout the project’s entirety.
